Questions & Answers Badlands Cedar Pass Cottage
Question One: It was asked at the site visit about abatement of hazardous materials. There are 9x9 floor tiles in the building which almost always contain asbestos. Is there any chance that there is a report to confirm this or not?
Answer: It was assumed that the 9x9 tiles were asbestos containing materials, and specifications included section 02 82 33 for the removal and disposal of these materials. No formal hazardous materials testing was done on those tiles. A scratch lead test was completed on the exterior and interior paint with positive lead findings on the windowsills.
Questions Two: Can we confirm the correct selection of material for the LVT and Hardwood? It has been brought to our attention that the flooring specifications and drawings are not calling out the same material.
Answer: Hardwood floors shall be northern hard maple following the specifications, and LVT shall be Mohawk Group, LVT “Hit the Mark”, following the specifications.
