Text version
1. The scope of work indicated that the windows would be cleaned inside and out….to include the storm windows if equipped. It also indicated that the windows with screens would need to be cleaned as well. Could we have this verified? (Verify inside of windows do/do not need to be cleaned as well). Windows should be cleaned inside and out
2. In terms of cleaning the inside windows…if required…is the staff going to be responsible for removing the coverings from the windows that we might have access to clean them? Unclear what coverings are being referred to. Only coverings are motorized shades which can be raised and lowered by the push of a button.
3. For the 10-day service period, is the facility going to be closed to the public? No If not, are we going to have to tape off areas that the contractors will work in? Yes The normal hours of operation are 9 am to 5 pm 7 days a week…which include the same times listed under section
3.3.2 (Work Schedule); Monday thru Friday.
4. SF Form 1449 indicated that there would be no official site visit, but that the building would be accessible for viewing of the work site. Can a different time be scheduled to view the second and third floor areas? Solicitation has been amended to include an official site visit, scheduled for 11 April 2022 at 10:00 am CST. Interested parties should meet at the Pullman National Monument Visitors Center lobby no later than 9:50 am CST.
5. Will there be an extension on the bids since there appears to be contradictions between the staff on site and the scope submitted to the contracting office. The cost is different is we only clean the outside vs. both the outside and inside of windows.
This solicitation deadline has been extended until 18 April 2022 @ 2:00 pm CST due to the addition of the site visit.
6. Will we be able to get an extension on the time required to finish the job due to the size of the scope on the 1st and 3rd option years?
The Statement of Work has been revised (paragraph 3.3.2) to reflect the allowance of extension of time due to the work involved in Option Years 1 and 3. Please review SOW Amended 12Apr22 for specific timelines.
7. Will we be required to power wash the concrete after the completion of the job as there are already tire marks in the concrete currently? Contractor will be required to clean up any mess/damage they make in the course of their work but not to correct any existing conditions.
8. On the north side of the facility, drops of paint were blown onto the window by the last contractor who painted the wood window covering. The paint would have to be scraped off with a blade of some type. Are we responsible for scraping the paint off the window on that side? If there is paint on the glass currently, yes (see SOW paragraph 3.3.1), but this should not be a recurring event beyond the base year (paint splatters).
9. For damage to trim pieces on the third floor…I want to confirm that we are not responsible for repairing that damage…correct? On the other hand, screen damage would be something that we should repair…correct? Damage should be reported to the Government but is not to be repaired by this contractor.
