Vendor Questions: Park Responses

1. Would the species of Eastern White Hemlock be acceptable for the material to be used in both solicitations? Eastern White Hemlock is indigenous to Big South Fork National

Forest.

Pak Response: #1 Eastern Hemlock (Tsuga Canadensis) would work fine for the palings.

Unfortunately, Hemlock would not serve our needs for posts or rails. Hemlock doesn’t fare as well as other available species and is more prone to rot with direct burial applications like fence posts.

2. Can you provide a picture or sample of the fence Palings?

The picture above is a sample section of the paling fence we will be replacing. Please note that requested material SHOULD NOT have angled ends.

3. I reviewed the spec sheets for both the solicitation # 140P5323Q0006, and 140P5323Q0007, I was hoping you could provide a picture or the shop drawing of the products being requested?

Park response #3.

Please reference picture above. Split Rail, Paling, Posts, and rough cut rails are all depicted.

Vendor Questions: Park Responses

4. Will this work: Thickness would need to be 1" x 2.5" to 3.0" random x 4 ft?

Park Response #4 Yes, we can work with a 1” thickness as long as they are not saw cut but that would have to be an absolute maximum.
