Questions and answers

1. Drawing A1.1 – BASEMENT & FIRST FLOOR PLAN Keynote 4.1 says “Openings greater than 4” dia” – for pricing purposes please provide a maximum size for these openings, typical of 7 locations. No hole is greater than 18" and that one is shown as image #1. Most are less than 8".

2. Drawing A1.1 – BASEMENT & FIRST FLOOR PLAN Keynotes 4.1 & 4.2 - are all of these (21) instances similar to Images 1 & 2 on detail 1/A1.1, patching holes at removed penetrations? Yes.

3. Drawing 4/AD.1 – THIRD FLOOR PLAN – DEMOLITION – Keynote 7.1 – Area 305 appears to have vermiculite insulation. Has the insulation in area 305 been sampled and tested for hazardous materials? The Park has tested this building in the past and no asbestos or other hazardous materials have been found.

4. Drawing M0.1 MECHANICAL COVER SHEET – Blower Door and Airflow Test – Note C. says the blower door test shall occur following completion of construction. Is there an ACH value the contractor will be required to meet, or is blower door testing for reference purposes only?

Blower Door Test and Airflow Test is just for reference.

5. Has a baseline blower door test been performed? If so, please provide pre-construction test results. No blower door test has been performed.

6. In PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS Section 23 70 00 - 20, line 2.3S. states that the acceptable manufacturers are Governair, Greenheck, Semco, and Trane. Would you consider using a Samsung system for this project? They are widely used throughout the U.S. on similar projects.

Samsung system would be considered if the contractor can prove that that the Samsung system meets all of the requirements and is an "as equal product".

7. Are there any phasing requirements for this project? How many people will be in the building?

Are there any temporary heating/cooling requirements? There are no phasing requirements.

Employees will be teleworking during this time but will occasionally need to come into the building for files or equipment. Additionally, maintenance folks will be periodically conducting maintenance. The project will be shut down during the winter months and started back up in the spring. Shutdown, water, heating, and cooling will need to be coordinated between the gov selected contractor.

8. Do the Superintendent, SSHO and QC Manager need to be 3 separate individuals? It will need to be at least 2 separate people, the QC/SSHO cannot be the superintendent.

9. 3) Spec section 2.3S. (pg 23 70 00 - 20 ) states that the acceptable manufacturers are Governair, Greenheck, Semco, and Trane. Would you consider using a Samsung system for this project?

Samsung system would be considered if the contractor can prove that that the Samsung system meets all of the requirements and is an "as equal product".

10. Is the another opportunity for a site visit? No. Site visit has already occurred.

11. Can the period of performance be extended after award once the material/equipment lead times are confirmed due to current market conditions for the equipment for this project? Period of performance is set as specified, however, if there are conditions as described in the contract clauses that allow for contract extension, then extensions will be considered.
