140P4224Q0029 Fire Sprinkler Repairs at New River Gorge National Park and Preserve

Contractor Questions

1. Our subcontractor responsible for the work has indicated that the 10-day completion timeline is unfeasible due to the following reasons:

The dry pendent sprinkler heads will need to be measured and ordered. Dry pendent sprinkler heads are made to order and can take up to 3 weeks for time of order.

The dry valves and air compressor will take a week or two to receive once they are ordered.

Is there a possibility to extend the period of performance?

Answer: The Period of Performance has been extended to 45 days

2. We would also like to clarify who is responsible for the wiring associated with the disconnection/reconnection of the air compressor.

Answer: The contractor is responsible for the wiring and connection of the compressor.

Per the Statement of Work, “The contractor shall install the replacement compressor in the same location as the existing compressor and connect the new unit to the copper airline that is routed to the dry valve.”

3. Is there an opportunity to arrange another site visit?

Answer: Please contact Matthew Ibbetson at 304-719-7744 to set up a site visit ASAP.
