#Contractor QuestionReferenceGovernment ResponseReference
How best to present/propose alternatives in the proposal?GeneralAlternatives shall be proposed as self-contained “stand-lone” packages complete with everything required by the solicitation instructions to offerors. Ensure the alternative(s) is/are labelled as such so the NPS knows what the “base” is vs the “alternative(s).”General
Can replacement be with original wooden (same style) material?GeneralThe park is amenable to wooden (same style) materials if it has a guaranteed 30-year lifespan.General
If alternative materials are chosen, can the styles be slightly different?GeneralThis is a construction contract -- material types can be different but are subject to approval by the Park during the material approval submittal process. The park will allow slightly different style of appearance only upon visual inspection and approval of materials in the submittal process.General
Can cuts be made closer to actual work sites (laying down a tarp to cover sites) than the proposed cutting areas?GeneralThe park considers the two designated Cut Sites to be the primary locations for cutting (on eastern and western ends) but will allow temporary sites to be set up no closer than 30' from any visitor/staff entrance. Each site must be cleaned fully at end of each workday and all proper safety measures must be taken to protect visitors from materials, disturbance and entering cut sites.General
Can we have the back deck closed off completely for the work in that site?GeneralYes, the back deck may be fully closed to complete work on that portion of building. The park will be responsible for making certain that door is closed/locked to back deck and proper signage is installed within visitor center to delineate Emergency Exit routes. Contractor will be responsible for preventing visitors from accessing area from sidewalk/front of building. Back deck will be reopened for weekends and no weekend work will be allowed on back deck.General
