AV Upgrade – KLSE-OLYM-JOMU

Q1 – Pg 9 (1.6.5.c.ii.) What is the purpose of the JBL Stage 280C speaker?

A: This is to act as a subwoofer, the space was inaccessible during the scoping and space inside the ceiling was undetermined. During post-award it can be arranged to access this space to determine if a true subwoofer could be installed.

Q2 – 11. Pg 10 (1.6.9.c.) Is there conduit or existing speaker wire for the PA speakers for KLSE?

A: There is no conduit in place. There are existing speakers for the upper level, it was believed during the scoping trip that the wires are resting on top of the exhibit cases out of site from the public.

Q3 – Pg 15 (2.6.8.c.iv.d) Should there be a rack for the PA amp for OLYM?

A: There is a cabinet space at the front desk that the park will need to modify to host new equipment.

Q4 – Pg 15 (2.6.8.c.iv.d) Are pictures on Attachment F, OLYM Photos pg 47 and 48 pictures of the speakers required?

A: Yes, those pictures are of the existing speakers in their current locations. An acceptable substitute is OK, it does not have to be the same speaker.

Q5 – Pg 16 (para. 3.6.1 d.i.) states Ipad qty of 1…Should there be 2 IPads?

A: No, one iPad, this is a small location, and the rack is a few steps away from the front desk. The park wants to primarily use the pushbutton remote to start the films at the front desk and the iPad will be for presentations.

Q6 – Should there be separate switching for the video cameras to be able to feed into one computer? All systems?

A: Yes, 1.6.8 a

Q7 – Why Blu120? Is Blu100 ok? Do we need Blu 101 for AEC for video conferencing?

A: Blu100 is acceptable, it is at the discretion of the contractor if a different means is necessary to tie in the audio system to the video conferencing, an audio processor was suggested to interface.

Q8 – Is there conduit for each speaker location? If not, is surface mount acceptable?

A: Not all locations have conduit run to all speakers, some are in conduit and in wall.

Some are unknown. Determining on where the cable is run, surface mount could be acceptable as long as it does not impact the historic aspect of the building, this can be discussed during post-award.

Q9 – KLSE and OLYM are noted as historic buildings. To verify, JOMU is not a historic building?

A: Correct, JOMU is not.

Q10 – Will there be penetration restrictions for mounting gear in the historic locations?

A: At the time of the scoping no new penetrations should have to be made, there are existing cable paths in place that can be utilized.

Q11 – Can we provide new racks, so that we can wire and test the system off site prior to installation? Can new racks be added to the RFQ, or do we need to swap out racks?

A: Yes, new racks can be provided, reutilizing racks was intended to be a cost saving measure.

Q12 – Do any of the PA speakers require lift capabilities to be mounted or wire ran for either KLSE or OLYM?
