Q1: Does NPS have an estimated quantity per “monthly” order shipped to both the North Rim and Sim Rim receiving points?

A1: The park cannot provide an estimated monthly quantity for delivery, only the annual estimated quantity in the contract. Needs depend on flow rates, visitation, and process needs. Some months the park may order a large quantity, some months the park may not need chemicals.

Q2: Can NPS provide an estimated annual/monthly ordered quantity for North Rim and South Rim separately by location?

A2: We can't provide an estimate for monthly delivery by location either, except to say that North Rim deliveries will likely be twice per year.

Q3: Regarding Item # 4 will NPS accept a 5 G container in lieu of a 6 G container A3: We will accept a 5-gallon container of bleach instead of the 6-gallon

Q4: Regarding Item # 9 bulk delivery of 28% Sodium Bisulfite 2000G bulk, is this a one-time delivery of 2000 G or multiple bulk deliveries? What is the volume of a typical order? What is the size of the bulk tank, and what is the tank connection type & size? (Example: 2” Female camlock?) Will NPS accept 25% or 40% Sodium Bisulfite concentrations?

A4: Bulk delivery of sodium bisulfite would be ordered as needed. The tank is 1000 gallons, orders may range from 0 gallons per month to 1000 gallons per month. It should be shipped in a tanker truck and pumped by the delivery vendor into our on-site tank. The tank connection type of a 2.5" female camlock (see photo below). We will not accept alternate concentrations of sodium bisulfite, only 28%

Q5: What are the “allowable” delivery dates to the North Rim? Closed in Winter?

A5: The delivery dates to the North Rim (just like the South Rim) will be as needed. North Rim deliveries will be between April and October each year.

Q6: Other than chlorine cylinders, does NPS desire to return containers or prefer “Non-Returnable” pails and drums?

A6: Chlorine cylinders will need to be returned to the vendor. For other chemicals, we prefer that containers are returnable, but it is not necessary.

Q7: Does NPS have “customer owned chlorine cylinders” or only “vendor provided” chlorine cylinders.

A7: We do not have customer owned chlorine containers, all need to be vendor provided and vendor removed.

Q8: Regarding Item # 13, ACH Polymer, Bulk Delivery, 285 G. Is the bulk delivery to a storage tank or delivered in a 285 G container (Tote)?

A8: Bulk delivery of polymer would be ordered as needed. The tank is 1000 gallons, and orders may range from 0 gallons per month to 1000 gallons per month. It should be shipped in a tanker truck and pumped by the delivery vendor into our on-site tank. The tank connection type of a 2.5" female camlock (see photo below).

Q9: Regarding all line items, but specifically the Chlorine approx 130 Gas Cylinders: do you have an estimate of the distribution anticipated between the North and South Rims?

A9: Most chemicals will be distributed to the South Rim, one delivery per month. Deliveries to the North Rim will be less frequent, approximately 2 deliveries per year.

Q10: Will the end user accept different sizes from the request as long as the number of gallons remain the same? e.g. 6-Gallon carboy vs a 5-gallon pail.

A10: For some chemicals, the individual container volume is critical. If the question is specifically asking about the 6-gallon carboys of 12.5% sodium hypochlorite being exchanged for a 5-gallon pail of 12.5% sodium hypochlorite, that is acceptable.

Q11: Two Line Items request “bulk” deliveries. Is this mandatory? Would they consider 330-gallon Totes?

A11: The ability to do bulk deliveries is required and a 330-gallon tote is not acceptable.

Q12: I wanted to know if you would take 30% SODIUM BISULFATE SOLUTION as a substitute for of 28% SODIUM BISULFATE SOLUTION? Attached below is the COA. Please let me know if this will work for your agency.

A12: A 30% SODIUM BISULFATE SOLUTION is not acceptable as a substitute for the 28% SODIUM BISULFATE SOLUTION specified in the solicitation.

Q13: Regarding item #13 (Aluminum Chloride Polymer – Bulk) on request# 140P1521Q0007 is the estimated annual quantity 285 gallons or 285 tons?

A13: On pages 33, 35, and 36 of the solicitation, the quantity unit for Aluminum Chloride Polymer, HB104C or equivalent (bulk delivery) is specified as “gallon.” On page 33 of the solicitation, the estimated annual quantity for the Aluminum Chloride Polymer, HB104C or equivalent (bulk delivery) is 285. The estimated annual quantity for the item is 285 gallons.
