A2. Yes, untreated wood is required where indicated in the specifications.

Q3. Alternative to Ponderosa Pine, engineered composite (Brands - Fiberon and or Trex ).

Durable composite core resists splintering, rotting, cracking, insects and decay

A3. Engineered composite will not be considered technically acceptable.

Q4. Would these alternatives be acceptable?

A4. See above relating to the referenced alternatives.

Q5. A few items we could save if they were stock sizes. We can absolutely have them cut to size, I just want to give you the option. The stock sizes are listed by item #, approx. size listed below:

6 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 x 12'

8 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 x 10'

10 3/4"x 5-1/4" x 10'

12 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" x 10'

A5. The NPS requires the measurements listed in the specifications. It is understood that some of the measurements may not be considered "stock sizes."

Q6. Can you use anything smaller for items 17 &

18? 14" is also not a stock size, so it will be more expensive to source.

A6. See A5 above.

Q7. If ponderosa pine is not available would doug fir be acceptable?

A7. Douglas Fir would be considered by the government if ponderosa pine is not available.

Q8. Do you want these smooth on all 4 sides or rough sawn?

A8. Smooth cut is preferred.
