BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT

Phoenix, AZ 85004-4427 www.az.blm.gov
Amendment 01
Solicitation 140L6422Q0032
Pronghorn Retrofit Fence
The purpose of this amendment (01) is to respond to questions received.
Question 1: In the attachment RFQ item #1 it states that the solicitation states "This Request for Quotation (RFQ) is to support the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Safford Field Office (SFO). The SFO is seeking quotes for the replacement of an allotment boundary fence for approximately .6 miles located between High Lonesome Allotment and Midway Canyon Allotment located in Cochise County, AZ" however the rest of the SOW states it's for 10.5 miles of replacing the bottom wire and moving wire #2 up in height. which project is this for or does it combine the two projects?
Answer 1: This Request for Quotation (RFQ) is to support the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), “Arizona Strip District Office,” The Arizona Strip District Office is seeking vendors to provide quotes in response to the Statement of Work under section E. Scope of Work.
Question 2: As far as the retrofitting of the bottom and the second wire goes, are there existing stays
(twisted wire or other) that will need to be removed or replaced or just adjusted for the new height requirements? Also is there an idea of how brushy the fence line is? for example is there a ton of sagebrush grown through the wires that will require cutting out in order to adjust/remove the existing wires? if broken posts are encountered is the contractor required to remove and reset a new post? Are there any more detailed maps or directions to the fence to be evaluated in person prior to bidding?
Answer 2: There could be some brush that may need to be trimmed, but not much. There is more likely to be some areas where tumbleweeds have collected against the fence.
These would be crushed or pulled back to access the fence.
The contractor would not be expected to repair broken fence posts.
