About this file
This document is a set of Questions and Answers (Q&A) related to Solicitation Number 140L5724Q0016 for a Three Peaks Equestrian Mountain Trail Challenge Course, issued by the Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management Utah Region. The Q&A provides clarification on the required obstacles for the course, including a "Low Bridge" (24' x 6'), balance beams of various lengths, and a "Pond and Water Box Grid" obstacle that will be a 20' x 50' pond. The solicitation also includes optional obstacles such as additional balance beams and a suspension bridge. The Q&A indicates that the Trailhead obstacle refers to the size specifications of the balance beams to be used, and that the agency will provide and maintain the water for the pond obstacle. No other details regarding the solicitation, such as response dates, pricing, or set-asides, are provided in this Q&A document.

On the list of required obstacles, there is listed "a. Low 24' Bridge". In the IMTCA rulebook, there is not an obstacle listed as a "Low Bridge". The only bridge remaining in the IMTCA rulebook is the "Small Bridge" which is stated as being 3'x12'. Could you clarify which obstacle you mean by "Low Bridge?"
Low Bridge (24' X 6') may not be identified in the IMTCA, but is a requirement of the contract. 3/19/2024 001

There are currently three balance beams (plus the trailhead) listed in the required obstacles in the proposal PDF: Short Balance Beam, 45‐Degree Balance Beam, and Long Balance Beam 24'
(1) Is the proposed "Short Balance Beam" equivalent to the IMTCA rulebook's "Balance Beam?"
(2)What obstacle is the "Long Balance Beam, 24'" in the IMTCA rulebook?
(3) In the optional obstacle list for the proposal there is also listed another Long Balance Beam; is this referring to the "High Balance Beam" in the rulebook, or what is this if different from the "Long Balance Beam, 24'"?
(4) And then there's another "Balance Beam" added into the optional additions‐‐which balance beam is this referring to, or is it just another small balance beam?
1. Short Balance Beam 14' (length) X18"(width) X 12" (height), 2.
Obstacle not identified in the IMTCA rulebook. Obstacle would be 24' (length) X 18" (width) X 12" (height). 3. Optional obstacle would be for another long balance beam 24' (length) X 18" (width) X 12" (height). 4. Optional balance Beam 28' (maximimum length) X 18" (width) X 12" (height) and Optional balance Beam 16' (length) X 18" (width) X 12" (height) 3/19/2024 001

The "Trailhead" obstacle is a combination of 4 balance beams and 2 turn around boxes. With the proposal PDF, there are 3 separate balance beams already in the course (the "c. short balance beam, d. 45‐degree balance beam and the e. "Long Balance Beam"), 2 optional balance beams and also a Large Turnaround box. Do you want the trailhead obstacle in addition to the already proposed beams and turn around box? That would make for 7 balance beams (potentially 9 with optional additions) within the 1.5 acre course?
Trail Head Obstacles refers to the approximate size specifications of the beams (18" wide X 6" thick) to be utilized for construction of obstacles. 3/19/2024 001

The "r. Pond and Water Box Grid" proposed obstacle to be 20' x 50'; is this to be set up as the "Step Into Pond" IMTCA obstacle? Or is it just a large, (6" deep?) pond in the course, and not an IMTCA‐comparable obstacle? Who is providing/maintaining the water?
This would be an IMTCA obstacle (20' X 50') large pond. BLM has a water source to provide/maintain water. 3/19/2024 001

There is a "Suspension Bridge" in the required list, but there's a "Suspension Bridge" in the optional obstacles as well? What's the difference between the two?
There is no difference. One Suspension Bridge is required for the course the other would be another obstacle in the course that is optional based on cost. 3/19/2024 001
