About this file

This document contains Questions and Answers related to the electrical connection requirements for the SEAT Base Mobile Office federal contract opportunity.

The key details are:

  • The contractor is responsible for wiring the unit to an existing electrical disconnect, which will be trenched from a nearby power source. The Electrical Site Plan provides details on the power source location.
  • There is a possibility the power company may not have the electrical line run to the office location at the time of delivery, in which case the awarded contractor will still be responsible for the final electrical connection, coordinating with the Contracting Officer's Representative.
  • The Bureau of Land Management - Nevada does not have a specific electrical contractor to refer for this project.

Wells SAT Base Electrical connection

Questions and Answers

Q 1: It is mentioned that the contractor is to “wire this unit up to an existing disconnect”. What can you say about the power source: Is it within a few feet of the proposed location of this building? Would it be trenched or above ground?

A 1.1: The connection will be trenched.

A1.2: Refer to the Electrical Site plan on page 2 of this document. It has all of the available information.

A 1.3: There is the possibility that the Power Company will not have the electrical line run to the Office location at the time of delivery. Should this happen, then the Contractor awarded this contract will still be responsible for the final electrical connection. The Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) will remain in contact and coordinate the final connection.

Q 2: Do you have a local electrician that you use on base that is familiar with this disconnect? If so, can you please provide their information.

A 2: BLM - Nevada does not have a specific Electrician to refer for this project.
