About this file

This document is an Amendment 0001 Questions and Answers for the BLM Norwood Rim Mechanical Fuels Reduction contract (Solicitation 140L3725Q0033). The Q&A provides specific guidance for contractor site access, focusing on two project units managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in the Idaho Region. The document details precise access instructions for Unit 1, which can be reached via a BLM 2-track easement route, with alternative foot access from County Road 44Z if the road is muddy. Contractors are explicitly instructed to access only designated routes, avoid private lands, and follow specific access protocols to ensure proper site navigation and respect for land boundaries.

Amendment 0001 Questions and Answers

1. We would like to have a representative visit the project locations. How is the current access looking? Are there any large snow accumulations or blocked roads? Are there any gate keys or codes, or anyone that we need to notify that we will be visiting?

Answer: You can access Unit 1. Access to Unit 2 is across private land and will be part of the May 6 site visit. Unit 1 is similar to Unit 2, though Unit 2 may have a slightly higher tree density and surface fuel loading.

There are no gates blocking access to Unit 1.

To access Unit 1, drive to the Google Maps location linked below and take the BLM 2-track easement route (gentle right turn onto dirt road) across private land to access BLM lands (shaded yellow on the maps provided in the RFQ). If the BLM 2-track is muddy, we request that the contractor proceed on foot into the unit from County Road 44Z.

Contractor’s must:

1. Access Unit 1 only by the specified BLM route.

1. Not cross onto private lands while walking the unit.

1. Keep vehicles on designated routes.
