About this file
This document contains an amendment to a federal solicitation and related federal contract opportunity. The amendment provides clarifications to the specifications for asphalt paving renovation work at the Lyons Ferry Fish Hatchery, including acceptable asphalt mix designs, elimination of a mixing specification paragraph, requirements for crushed recycled material, and clarification on reusing existing base rock and shoulder construction. The opportunity is a firm fixed price construction contract between $1-5 million to be awarded using lowest price technically acceptable procedures. The work must be completed by November 1, 2021 and is set aside for small businesses. The Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service is the contracting agency.

4. Clarification of Re-using Existing Base Rock:
Existing base rock may be re-utilized for new paving sections if it is kept uncontaminated from non-classified subgrade material and if it can be compacted per these specifications.
5. In areas where the Pavement Reconstruction detail is used (pulverized asphalt and new AC paving resulting in finish grades approximately
3"-4" higher), typically provide crushed rock shoulder along the edges. For the Pavement
Reconstruction in Area 3 (large long rearing ponds), provide a compacted tapered (45 degree) finished edge.
6. Permanent dumping of unused waste material on-site is not permitted.
