About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details carpet flooring replacement requirements for the NOAA Ship Bell M. Shimada's second deck staterooms, with O-2 Deck staterooms as secondary priority if additional carpet remains. The government will furnish 2,160 sqft of MC 240 Newport Blue wool carpet.
The contractor must remove existing deck covering and cove base from staterooms, properly dispose of removed materials, repair 10% of the ship's underlayment leveling compound, install the government-furnished 100% wool flooring, and install new Roppe 700 Series Wall Base (4"x1/8", color #139 Deep Navy, approximately 1,180 linear feet). The work must be completed while the ship is at Mare Island Dry Dock. The contractor must provide all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and services, and submit detailed documentation including material cut sheets, installation instructions, SDS sheets, and IMO certification upon completion.
