07/29/2021 Caliche Road Improvements - Solicitation 12805B21R0010
Questions & Answers
1. The scope of work package does not mention the requirements to remove the existing vegetation from the roads prior to placing stone. However, this was emphasized as a requirement at the site visit. Can you provide clarification as to whether this is a bid requirement?
At the site visit it was suggested by the attending contractors that the vegetation would have to be removed. In the statement of work it is required that the roads be graded and packed prior to applying the new caliche. This process should remove the vegetation remaining now that all the roads have been mowed. If by experience you feel that removing to remaining vegetation prior to grading and packing the caliche is required then include it in your bid. This project will require a 1 year warranty from the day of completion so bid what is required to deliver a quality job.
2. If removing vegetation is a requirement, is there a spoils area on site to dump the vegetation removed from the existing roads? If so, where is this spoils area?
If removing vegetation is included in your bid also include the cost to remove from the facility.
3. Some of the road intersections are much wider than 20’. Is the expectation that the contractor covers these areas in stone as well?
The SOW states a 20’ wide road so that is the requirement.
4. The width of the caliche road is specified to be 20’ wide. The distance between fences in the road corridors is 20’. The edges of the new caliche road will be up against the cattle fence.
Please confirm that the caliche should be installed 20’ wide against the cattle fence.
The road is to be installed without causing damage to the fence. If 20’ is not logical and 18’ is to prevent damaging to fence please provide bid for maximizing the area between the fence without damage.
5. SAM.GOV indicated that the due date for this proposal has been extended, but no amendment has been issued. Can you please confirm that the new proposal submission date is 8/4/2021 @
4:00CT?
The new proposed due date is correct.
No more questions will be accepted after Thursday 07/29/2021 at 4:00 P.M. central.
