Questions & Answers

1. My question is in regards to the 1" chip seal. Can you please clarify if this is a 1" aggregate or multiple layers of smaller aggregate to equal 1". thickness. Option 5 chip seal: we are no longer interested in this option due concerns with drainage.

2. The bid schedule asks for each mile of the caliche roads to be price separately. Option 5 is the chip seal. Are you looking for a price to cover 1 mile that can be multiplied by however many miles is awarded? Or, are you looking for a price for 5 miles that can divided by the amount desired and awarded? Option 5 chip seal: we are no longer interested in this option due concerns drainage. We would like to have the price per mile of caliche road and a price for all 5 miles of caliche road. We understand the doing to project 1 mile at a time could cost more due to mobilizing and demobilizing if the work is not done continuously so the break-down of doing the project a mile at a time and all at once is what we are requesting.

3. Crushed caliche or pit run caliche? We ask that the contractor provide the estimate with what caliche to use based on their experience now that they have seen the location.
