Deadhorse Trail pre-bid meeting notes
Attendees:
Karie Linn, FS – Contracting Officer Pat Hampston, FS – Contracting Officer’s Representative Jenna, M Jolma, Inc.
John, Terra Engineering
Are exact soil boring locations available? No. The borings in the geotechnical report for “bridge 4/5” correspond to “crossing 4” in the plans. The borings in the geotechnical report for “bridge 6” correspond to “crossing 5” in the plans. The exact bore hole locations were not surveyed.
Benchmarks, would the FS re-stake those? Yes, the FS would re-stake prior to construction if they are unrecoverable.
What happens if we encounter differing site conditions, i.e. need to install additional pilings? That would be addressed under the differing site conditions clause, included in the contract, through a bilateral contract modification.
Are there any seasonal work restrictions for trout? Bridge 5 does not cross a stream, only a wetland, so there are no timing restrictions on this crossing. Bridge 4 crosses a warm water stream so no in-stream work may take place between March 1st and June 15th. Work outside of the ordinary high water mark may proceed during this time period.
What is the period of performance? 154 days from assumed issue of Notice to Proceed on May 01, however period of performance can be negotiated with engineering approval.
