Plot Combine Transportation
1. Question: The Statement of work (SOW) states that the transportation services require the plot combine to be moved between five (5) locations in Iowa between mid-September and early -November. However, the haul locations listed in the statement of work totals 6 locations.
Response: The combine will be picked up from the Plant Introduction Station in Ames, Iowa. From this location, it will be transported to the first yield trial location. Once harvested is finished at the first location, it will be transported to the second location from the first location. This is repeated till the combine is at the fifth yield trial location. From the fifth location, the combine is transported back to the Plant Introduction Station.
1. Plant Intro to 1st YT
2. 1st YT to 2nd YT
3. 2nd YT to 3rd YT
4. 3rd YT to 4th YT
5. 4th YT to 5th YT
6. 5th YT to Plant Intro
The combine is driven from Plant Introduction to the yield trial location located near Ames.
2. Question: Are there multiple combines being transported to each location?
Response: There is only one combine that is transported.
3. Question: What is the frequency of these deliveries?
Response: It generally takes a day or two to finish harvesting at a single location. This is highly dependent on the location because the size of the area to be harvested varies. But it is generally every day to two. This is also dependent on weather.
4. Question: Will the carrier need to wait for an expected amount of time at a certain location? Asking due to layover details.
Response: In years past, the combine would be unloaded at a location and the carrier would leave. Once harvest was completed at that site, I would call the carrier and request the combine to be transported to the next site.
This was generally done within one day.
5. Question: Will there be a pricing schedule issued Response: Pricing Schedule:
