About this file

This document contains questions and answers regarding federal contract opportunity 12444324Q0029 for broadcast fertilizer application services on the Allegheny National Forest. The solicitation requests the uniform application of granular urea and diammonium phosphate fertilizers to designated stands that have had overstory removal on the Bradford Ranger District. The fertilizer must be trucked daily to application sites rather than stored on-site, as the district compound is not suitable for large-scale fertilizer storage. The questions confirm the types of fertilizers requested in the solicitation are urea and DAP.

Text version

12444324Q0029 - ALF Forest-wide Broadcast Fertilizer Application 07MAR2024

1. Upon notification of award would it be acceptable to get all fertilizer delivered to the Bradford Ranger District and kept there for storage during the duration of the project? I am not sure what the Allegheny NF requirements are for storing large amounts of fertilizer on public lands during this contract. I was thinking this would be the most efficient way to get this project done.

a. The district compound is not set up well for storage or staging of fertilizer. The contractors that we have had in the past trucked the fertilizer to the site daily for operations.

2. The question revolves around the Urea and DAP being used. To confirm this is what the Forest is requesting?

a. Yes, the forest is requesting Urea and DAP. Per the SOW - “Materials to be used on this project will be solid form granular or pelleted Urea (46-0-0), and Diammonium Phosphate (18-46-0).”
