About this file
This document contains questions and answers regarding a security gate repair solicitation issued by the Department of Agriculture Forest Service R9-Eastern Region. The solicitation seeks bids to repair a security gate at the WMNF that was bent out of alignment last winter when an vehicle slid into it on ice. The gate motor is still functional but the bend prevents the gate from moving properly on its rollers. The motor was disconnected and the partially disassembled gate moved out of the way. Specifications for the old gate motor are requested to aid pricing for a potential replacement, and a photo of the motor nameplate is provided.

1. Wondering if the old gate is no longer functioning. What is wrong with it?
Last winter a vehicle approached the gate, slid on the ice, and bent the gate out of alignment. The gate motor worked at that time, but the bend in the gate wouldn’t allow it to travel on the rollers. The gate was partially disassembled to move it out of the way and the motor was turned off.
2. Do you have the motor serial number listed on the old unit? In order to price a new one it would be good to get the specs on the old one to see footprint and weight distributions etc.
Below is a photo of the nameplate.
