About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for the Everton Creek Conifer Timber Sale Preparation contract opportunity (12443926Q0187). The document addresses three key inquiries regarding project scope, timeline, and incumbent status.

The project involves preparing 413 acres containing an estimated 5,500 CCF of red pine, spruce, and balsam fir for commercial thinning. Specific work tasks include stand boundary layout, boundary tracking and polygon creation using GPS, boundary marking, cut tree marking, and sample tree cruising as detailed in the Performance Work Statement. The contract period runs from the date of award through September 1, 2027. This is a new procurement with no identified incumbent vendor; similar services have historically been ordered through the Forest Service's Land Management Integrated Resources (LMIR) Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA), making individual award numbers for prior work unavailable. The full solicitation details are available on SAM.gov.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS:

1. QUESTION: The timber sale name is the Everton Creek Timbersale. Attached documents show several other sale names. Penn sale as well as the hodge podge sale creating some confusion. Are these sales a separate bid or already having been setup and are being offered to loggers and industry for purchase?

ANSWER: The project is known as Everton Creek Timber Sale Preparation.

It consists of preparing 413 acres/an estimated 5,500 CCF of red pine, spruce and balsam fir commercial thinning.

2. QUESTION: In section 3.0 of the statement of work the date of August 1, 2024 is listed as the completion date. Since there are no time machines being offered by the USFS I’m wondering what is the actual completion date for this work?

ANSWER: From date of award through 01 Sep 2027.

3. QUESTION: Is there any incumbent/recompete or this is a brand-new project? If yes, could you please provide us with their award number or even if the customer bought similar services in the past.

ANSWER: At this time, I do not have information on any previous standalone awards for this requirement. These services are typically ordered through the Forest Service’s Land Management Integrated Resources (LMIR) Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA), so individual award numbers for past similar work are not readily available to me. As such, I am unable to identify a specific incumbent vendor or prior award number.
