Text version

SOW Tree Trimming/Removal Building 15 The scope of this project consists of the trimming (crown reduction/crown cleaning) and removal of trees around B15 Subtropical Horticulture Research Station (SHRS) at 13601 Old Cutler Road in Miami, FL, 33158.

The primary objective of this project is to mitigate potential hazards to people and property resulting from falling trees or tree parts.

- Canopy Reduction: Removal of the outer portions of the branches and/or the top of the subject trees, to shorten the height, branch length, and end weight. Crown reduction should be conducted to reduce the subject trees crown size to a minimum of 3 feet away from building B15 without unreasonably damaging its health or short and long-term structural integrity.

- Cleaning: Removal of dead, broken, or hanging branches in the tree’s crown.

-Felling: Small trees and shrubs located within 3 feet of the building will be cut down to a stump. The freshly cut stump shall be treated with a systemic herbicide solution (E.G glyphosate) to prevent resprouting.

-After cutting into smaller pieces (2- 3 ft in length), the debris can be deposited inside the location’s pit.
