RFIs Upgrade Chillers RRC Building USDA Athens, GA
1. Reference note 4 on sheet E4.1 indicates to install a new 1600amp Square D breaker in in existing main switchboard “MSB”. Please confirm that this is a prepared space meaning the breaker carriage, the bus. and the breaker stabs are in this spare breaker compartment that is to be used.
Yes the space is prepared.
2. Please confirm that work associated with notes 9 & 10 under “Reference Notes-Phase 2 -New on sheet E4.1 are not part of the Phase 1 pricing.
Confirmed, this is not part of phase 1. These notes apply to power for the new Chiller in Phase 2.
3. We note that paragraph 3.1.5 spec section 26 05 33 -4 indicates that conduit and boxes installed in mechanical rooms is to be galvanized rigid conduit. We noted doing the site visit that there were numerous overhead conduit feeders that were EMT down to the top of the panel or switchboard they originated from. Is EMT permitted to be used in the interior of the mechanical and electrical rooms if conduit is terminated into the top of the panel?
