About this file
This document contains Questions and Answers related to a federal contract opportunity for a 3D Surface Profiler Controller. The key details are:
The government is seeking a contractor to provide a 3D printer to determine surface characteristics of films, nanofibers, and filaments made primarily of dairy proteins. The required characteristics include both microscopic (surface roughness, pore size, particle size) and macroscopic (thickness, warping, shrinking) qualities. The 3D profiler may also be used to design CAD models for 3D printing.
The solicitation number is 12305B24Q0140, and the NAICS code is 333248 with a small business size standard of 750. It is a 100% small business set-aside. Quotes are due by 2:00 PM PST on 8/8/2024 and should be emailed to Elizabeth Wilson at Elizabeth.Wilson2@usda.gov. Interested parties must submit any questions by 2:00 PM PST on 8/1/2024. Questions and Answers #2
1. What is the application you are trying to do on the profiling tool?
ANSWER: We are looking to determine surface characteristics of films, nanofibers, and filaments made primarily of dairy proteins. These characteristics include both microscopic (surface roughness, pore size and quantity, particle size estimates, etc) and macroscopic (film thickness, warping, shrinking, other shape deviations) qualities. We may also use a profiler to design cad models for 3D printing.
