RFI No. 1 Replace Pneumatic Control System NCCCWA Leetown, WV July 18, 2023

RE: RFI 1

Date: July 18, 2023 Solicitation: 12305B23Q0082 Project: Replace Pneumatic Control System at the National Center for Cool Cold-Water Aquaculture

Please see the following responses to the questions received to date for the solicitation to replace the pneumatic actuators at NCCCWA in Leetown.

· There approximately 13 heating water and chilled water valves that have pneumatic actuators within the building that were not mentioned in the scope of work. Should we include the cost of replacing these valves?

· USDA Response: Yes, please include the cost of replacing the heating water and chilled water valves.

· The SOW mentions removing all abandon pneumatic lines throughout the building. This could be very labor intensive. Would it be acceptable to remove the pneumatic tubing in just the open mechanical spaces?

· USDA Response: Yes, removing only the pneumatic tubing in the open mechanical spaces is acceptable.

· Is it the internet of this SOW to only retrofit the pneumatic actuator and associated control board for each of the existing lab air valves?

· USDA Response: The original intent was to retrofit just the pneumatic actuator on the existing valves. If the valves can’t be retrofitted or have reached the end of their useful life, please note that in your proposal and include a price for valve replacement.

· Is it possible to have the solicitation due date extended?

· USDA Response: Yes, the Contracting Officer will determine a reasonable time extension.
