Questions/Answers in (bold/italic/red)

1. Drawing S5 shows 6 locations for small aircraft parking. The optional concrete pavement only includes 5 of the 6 areas as Option B. Is it the intent to only place concrete under these 5 areas? Yes, there are only 5 areas identified for concrete pavement in Option B.

2. Option B includes optional paving on 5 areas includes approximately 13,600 SF of PCCP. The only concrete pavement section shown on drawing D10 calls for 6” of concrete pavement. This will require a neat quantity of 252 CY. The bid schedule calls out only 50 CY for this pavement. Are we to bid only 50 CY for this item? The quantity for this line item has been updated. See the updated Schedule of Items Sheet (G2).

3. Options B or C will reduce the quantity of asphalt pavement in the base bid. However, there are only additive items in these options. If they are exercised, they add to the project without removing the asphalt pavement eliminated. Do you want us to only add the additional cost above asphalt pavement for these areas? A credit of the asphalt costs has been added. See the updated Schedule of Items Sheet (G2).

4. The “white pavement” quantities have been dramatically reduced with this revised RFP. The specification 32 13 11 calls for a slipform paver as the standard method of constructing concrete pavement. Due to the very small and random placement of the concrete for this project. Will fixed form paving be approved? Yes, fixed form paving is an acceptable method for the quantity of concrete specified in this contract.

5. Will locally commercially available concrete mixes be approved for the limited concrete pavement required for this project? Yes, local commercial concrete mixes may be approved for this project provided the mix design meets the salient requirements found within the specification such as: flexural strength, cement type and content, admixture type and content, aggregate size distribution, aggregate soundness requirements, and the amount of deleterious materials.

6. The previous RFP had an end date well into the late summer of 2020. This RFP calls for 120 calendar days as the period of performance with an anticipated start date of September 2019. By the time submittals and work plans are prepared, submitted, reviewed and approved, the paving season at McCall will not permit work to be completed this season. Could submittals be completed during the off season and work commence in May 2020? The 120 days only refers to onsite work. This time does not have to be consecutive (i.e. fencing could be installed in fall, paving in spring, parking lots in summer) though all work must be completed before September 30, 2020. Submittals, workplans and all other preparation work do not count towards the period of performance.
