Answers to Questions
1. The building specifications—do they want a particular siding, floor covering, ceiling? Why do they want wood exterior doors? Wood frame jambs don’t last well. Will they accept steel doors in steel jamb?
Government Response:
Please refer to Section 5.1.5 Specific Requirements, floors shall be VCT; walls shall be vinyl and ceiling tile/grid shall be either 2’x2’ or 2’x4’. Contractor shall submit interior color selections for approval by the Customer prior to installation.
We currently have solid wood doors and frames on our existing temporary buildings. Steel is acceptable, however the minimum acceptable requirement is Wood.
2. Is the modular furniture included (cubicles?).
Government Response:
No. The modular furniture is not a part of this contract.
3. Can we have only one ADA ramp per building rather than at each door? That’s all ADA law requires. Do they want wood frame or aluminum? Will they pay this up front or is this rolled into the lease?
Government Response:
Per Section 5.1.5 Specific Requirements of the PWS, each building shall have one (1) ADA ramp, constructed of wood.
Per Section 5.1.5 Specific Requirements of the PWS, miscellaneous structures (including the decks, ramps, stairs et al) will be purchased outright, and not rolled into the lease.
In the body of the email containing the information for this bid, can we get a little more clarification on what we are supposed to do with the "Line Item Details" section. Do we need to do anything with that or just make sure all those items are included in each building? or quantity total for all three buildings. I know most of the stuff listed is called out in the Performance Work Statement, I just want to clarify. And are the numbers listed out to the side of each line item the quantity per building?
Government Response:
Line item 001 – total cost of lease of 3 modulars.
Line item 002 – total cost for delivery and set up.
Line item 003 – Total outright cost of miscellaneous structures. The Government do not want to lease these items but to purchase them outright. Quanity total for all 3 buildings.
Line item 004 – quantity total for all 3 buildings Line item 005 - Quantity total for all 3 buildings.
Line item 006 - Quantity total for all 3 buildings
