A current production model is defined as the manufacturer's current product, has been designed, engineered, sold or is being offered for sale through advertisements or manufacturer's published catalogs or brochures. The equipment shall be designed to use current technology and new parts, which are common among today’s industry. Products such as a prototype unit, pre-production model or an experimental unit do not qualify as meeting the requirement. The equipment shall include all components parts and features necessary to meet the alignment and performance requirements specified herein.

Machining and Metrology Capabilities.

There are critical dimensions on the equipment require a temperature controlled environment, precision machining capability, & precision measuring instruments. The contractor is responsible to ensure that dimensional and calibration requirements are met. The contractor must have the capability to control the temperature of a metrology room to within 68 +/- 1 degrees F. Before a dimensional verification is performed, the test instruments must be placed in the metrology room for at least 24 hours and the temperature must not vary by more than 2 degrees F within the final 2 hours.

The contractor must have the capability to machine dimensions to an accuracy of +/- 0.0001 inches or better. The contractor must have the capability to machine a surface to a flatness of 0.0001 inches total indicator runout (TIR). Furthermore, the contractor must verify dimensional requirements using equipment (or equivalent) listed in the appropriate technical data. The contractor must have the capability to verify applicable test instruments characteristics and measuring equipment characteristics per TOs 33K6-4-3350-1, 33K6-4-3351-1, and 33K6-4-3352-1. This measuring equipment includes the following:

077-78205 FIXTURE, TEST - FREQUENCY
R 2001
1) Replace obsolete LVDT style load cells with new Strain gage style load cells

2) Replace obsolete load cell interface electronic signal conditioners and cable assy

3) Replace analog dial indicators with digital indicators in select locations

4) Replace Buna-N o-rings and seals with Viton Seals

1) LVDT style load cells are obsolete and no longer supportable. The new load cells will improve the maintenance capability on the test fixture.

2) The new signal conditioners and cable assemblys reduce obsolescence issues associated with the old electronics.

3) Use of the new digital indicators improves the operators ability to accurately measure and record position readouts and reduces the possibility of technician error when reading multi-rotation dial indicator measurements.

4 ) The use of Viton seals will provide longer service life for the hydraulic test equipment and reduce downtime for maintenance.

077-68264 FLOW CYLINDER, EQUAL AREA
K 1981

1) Upgrade flow cylinder piston by applying titanium nitride coating

1) Titanium nitride coating on flow piston will provide an improved wear surface resulting in longer life and reduced maintenance.

077-78203-3 TEST FIXTURE – PRCA
P 2007
1) Updated frame and drawer assemblies

2) Improved back press valve

3) Electronic flowrator and gauges

4) Stainless steel manifolds.

1) Manufacture frame and drawers to updated configuration. Also- replace current epoxy-polyamide paint finish with improved powder coat finish. Powder coat finish has improved durability and increased resistance to paint chipping. Use of improved finish will reduce possibility of contamination to units being assembled.

2) New back pressure valves have improved sealing design for longer life and reduced maintenance.

3) Use of electronic flow rater in place of "float style" flow rater will improve accuracy, eliminate need for technician to interpolate readings and provide for easier calibration process.

4) Upgrade of manifold material from alum ally to stainless steel will result in longer life due to improved material wear characteristics. This is important due to the critical features which experience wear due to repeated installations and removals of unit's under test (UUT's). The use of stainless steel will reduce fixture downtime for maintenance.
