LAB, RFP, Arizona State Laboratory Courier Services

The Arizona Department of Health Services Master Agreement CTR058724 is an Indefinite Delivery Vehicle (IDV) for state laboratory courier services, specifically designed to facilitate medical specimen transportation across Arizona. The contract enables routine and will-call pickup and delivery of clinical, environmental, and reference specimens, including infectious materials, newborn screening cards, reports, and supplies. Services cover multiple counties and healthcare facilities, including hospitals, county health departments, and medical centers, with comprehensive transportation requirements such as temperature-controlled delivery, chain of custody maintenance, and compliance with Department of Transportation regulations for infectious substance transportation.

The master agreement is awarded to Specialized Delivery Services, Inc., a Scottsdale-based courier company, and was initially executed on February 1, 2022, with subsequent amendments extending the contract through January 31, 2026. The IDV is a fixed-price contract covering statewide Arizona operations, with the most recent amendment (Amendment No. 3) preserving the original contract terms. Pricing is location-specific, ranging from $9.60 to $160.00 depending on service type and geographic location. The contractor maintains comprehensive liability insurance, including commercial general liability with $1,000,000 per occurrence and an additional $1,000,000 umbrella coverage, ensuring robust protection for the state's healthcare logistics needs.
