The contract, valued at up to $128,757,513.55, has a period of performance from January 2017 to January 2022. Aero Turbine, the prime contractor, specializes in maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for the J85 engine and holds several other IDIQ contracts with the Air Force and Navy for J85 engine sustainment, collectively worth over $450 million.
The task orders issued under this IDC include firm fixed-price delivery orders for J85 main engine repairs, MISTR (Modular Inspection, Service, and Test Repair) overhauls, and other component services. The work is primarily performed at Aero Turbine's facilities in Stockton, California. This contract supports the Air Force Sustainment Center's mission to provide maintenance and sustainment for aircraft engines and systems to ensure operational readiness of the military's aviation assets.
