About this IDV
The University of Chicago was awarded a single-award indefinite delivery contract (IDC) by the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering, a component of the National Institutes of Health, to establish and operate the Medical Imaging and Data Resource Center (MIDRC). The $50 million IDC is intended to support rapid response to the COVID-19 pandemic through the provision of medical imaging and data resources for research and development efforts.
Under this IDC, the University of Chicago has received several cost-no-fee delivery orders, including a $12 million award to support the MIDRC - Medical Imaging in the Biomedical Data Fabric project, a $13.9 million award to continue operating the MIDRC program in its third year, and a $20.2 million award to initially establish the MIDRC for COVID-19 response. These task orders, which do not have small business set-asides, leverage the University of Chicago's expertise as a leading research institution to deliver specialized services, scientific research, and data management capabilities to support critical national health initiatives, particularly in understanding, preventing, and treating infectious diseases.
