About this IDV
The National Institutes of Health National Cancer Institute awarded a single-award indefinite delivery contract to the Texas Department of State Health Services to support the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results Program. The $500 million IDV aims to collect cancer-related data to advance understanding of cancer trends and outcomes through 2028.
Under the IDV, an initial $8.9 million task order was issued to the Texas Department of State Health Services for SEER core infrastructure support from May 2021 through April 2028. This task order will fund the prime contractor's management of cancer-related public health programs and delivery of infrastructure services to further the National Cancer Institute's mission of cancer surveillance.
The original solicitation sought proposals to expand population-based central cancer registries collecting and reporting cancer incidence, treatment, and survival data as part of the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results Program. Awards under multiple IDCs were anticipated to have a combined value between $1 billion to $500 million for an eight-year period of performance. Registries would be responsible for migrating their data to the SEER Data Management System platform.
