About this IDV

This Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) was awarded by the Defense Human Resources Activity, a defense agency, to Weitbrecht Communications, a woman-owned small business. The $5.5 million BPA was established to streamline the acquisition of commercial items for the agency, reducing administrative costs associated with open-market purchases.

The BPA covers a variety of telephonic assistive devices and equipment, including CapTel phones, assistive telephone equipment, and related accessories. Task orders issued under the BPA range from $200 to $3,700 in ceiling values, with firm-fixed-price terms. The place of performance for these task orders is primarily in Rosslyn, VA and Falls Church, VA. This BPA mechanism allows the agency to efficiently procure these specialized commercial products without the need for repetitive individual purchases, aligning with the goals of the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act.

Description

In the spirit of the federal acquisition streamlining act, tricare management activity and contractor, weitbrecht communications enters into a cooperative agreement to further reduce the administrative costs of acquiring commercial items. The blanket purchase agreement s (BPA) eliminate contracting and open market costs such as: search for sources; the development of technical documents, solicitations and the evaluation of bids and offers. Teaming arrangements are permitted with contractors in accordance with federal acquisition regulation (far) part 9.6. This BPA will further decrease costs, reduce paperwork and save time by eliminating the need for repetitive, individual purchase from the schedule contract. The end result is to create a purchasing mechanism for the government that works better and costs less.
