The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded a $260,564 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program grant to the Randolph County Housing Authority (RCHA) for the period of January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025. The CoC Program is designed to promote community-wide strategies to end homelessness by providing funding for nonprofit providers, states, and local governments to quickly house homeless individuals and families while minimizing trauma and promoting self-sufficiency.
Under this award, RCHA will utilize the funding to provide a range of eligible activities, including permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, homeless management information systems (HMIS), and potentially homelessness prevention. As the prime recipient, RCHA may also subaward portions of the funding to other organizations to assist in carrying out these efforts. The expected outcomes of the project are to decrease the number of individuals and families experiencing homelessness by improving performance indicators such as length of time homeless, returns to homelessness, and exits to permanent housing.
