This $592,771 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program project grant award from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (CFDA 14.267) will support Western Dairyland Economic Opportunity Council, Inc., a non-profit organization based in Independence, Wisconsin, in providing housing assistance and supportive services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
The funding will enable Western Dairyland to deliver a range of eligible CoC Program activities, including permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, homeless management information systems (HMIS), and potentially homelessness prevention efforts. The organization will work to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families, minimize the trauma and dislocation caused by homelessness, and promote self-sufficiency and access to mainstream resources. This grant award is part of HUD's efforts to address homelessness through community-based strategies and is expected to help decrease the number of individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Western Dairyland's service area.
