CARTA WILL PROVIDE $30000 IN LOCAL MATCHING FUNDS FOR A 90% FEDERAL / 10% LOCAL FUNDING SPLIT.; ACTIVITIES PERFORMED: CARTAS ELECTRIC BUS MASTER PLAN WILL SUPPORT THE AGENCYS NEW FLEET OF 24 ZERO EMISSION BATTERY ELECTRIC BUSES PROGRAMMED FOR SERVICE OVER THE NEXT 4 YEARS. THE PLAN WILL INCLUDE A ROUTE OPTIMIZATION STUDY POWER ANALYSIS ZERO EMISSIONS ROAD MAP AND FLEET REPLACEMENT AND EXPANSION PLAN.; EXPECTED OUTCOMES: THE PROJECT WILL DEVELOP THE NECESSARY PLANNING DOCUMENTS TO TRANSITION CARTAS DIESEL BUS FLEET TO ALL-ELECTRIC BUSES. THE ROUTE OPTIMIZATION TASK WILL IDENTIFY IMPROVED CONNECTIVITY TO THE PLANNED SHIPWATCH SQUARE TRANSIT CENTER FOR THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITY PATIENTS AND PATRONS OF THE PLANNED SOCIAL SERVICES HUB AND RURAL RESIDENTS. CARTA WILL COMPLETE A POWER ANALYSIS USING A SIMULATION MODELING TOOL TO IDENTIFY CHARGING INFRASTRUCTURE NEEDS AND PLACEMENT TRANSIT SCHEDULES TO IMPROVE EFFICIENCIES IN THE SYSTEM AND BUS DEPLOYMENT. FROM THIS ANALYSIS THE PROJECT WILL DEVELOP A ZERO EMISSIONS ROAD MAP TO TRANSITION THE DIESEL FLEET TO ELECTRIC INCLUDING A FLEET MANAGEMENT PLAN.; INTENDED BENEFICIARIES: THE CARTA TRANSIT SYSTEM AND ITS CUSTOMERS THAT RELY ON TRANSIT SERVICE WILL BENEFIT FROM CONTINUED SERVICES PERMITTING WORKERS TO GET TO EMPLOYMENT SITES AND FURTHER ECONOMIC PRODUCTIVITY IN THE COMMUNITY.; SUBRECIPIENT ACTIVITIES: NONE
