The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded a $724,858 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program grant to Mckean Co Housing, a local government housing authority in Smethport, Pennsylvania. The CoC Program (CFDA 14.267) is designed to promote community-wide strategies to end homelessness by providing funding for nonprofit providers, states, and local governments to quickly house homeless individuals and families while minimizing trauma.
The grant funds will support Mckean Co Housing's efforts to deliver a range of eligible activities under the CoC Program, including permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, homeless management information systems (HMIS), and homelessness prevention. The organization will leverage this funding to provide housing, case management, mental health/substance abuse treatment, and job training services to assist homeless individuals and families in Smethport and McKean County to rapidly obtain permanent housing and achieve self-sufficiency.
