About this award
The National Resources Conservation Service awarded a $2.2 million Project Grant to Texas A&M Agrilife Research under the Environmental Quality Incentives Program to scale up precision sustainable integrated weed management solutions to U.S. field crop producers from March 2021 through March 2026. As part of the EQIP program's goal of promoting agricultural production and environmental quality, Texas A&M will work with University of Illinois, Iowa State University, and Virginia Tech on developing and expanding integrated weed management approaches using precision technologies. The sub-awardees will assist Texas A&M in testing and refining these solutions for field crop producers nationwide. Upon completion, the project aims to establish standardized best practices for controlling weeds across different crops and geographies while minimizing environmental impacts.
