This $273,564 Project Grant award from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Continuum of Care (CoC) Program (CFDA 14.267) supports the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs' efforts to address homelessness in the state. The funding will enable the agency to provide a range of eligible activities, including permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, homeless management information systems (HMIS), and homelessness prevention. The overarching goals are to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families, minimize the trauma and dislocation caused by homelessness, promote access to mainstream resources, and optimize self-sufficiency among those experiencing homelessness. While the specific sub-recipient activities are not yet known, the CoC Program funding will empower the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs to collaborate with nonprofit providers, local governments, and other stakeholders to implement a comprehensive community-based strategy to end homelessness.
