The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) awarded the State of Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) a $3.22 million Project Grant under the Pacific Salmon Treaty Program (CFDA 11.438) effective September 1, 2025, through August 31, 2028. This award supports ODFW's implementation of the Pacific Salmon Treaty through fishery data collection, data exchange activities, and representation on technical committees and panels. These core functions enable the agency to fulfill U.S. international commitments under the treaty while addressing the information and management needs of the Pacific Salmon Commission.

The grant aims to stabilize and enhance Pacific salmon populations to provide optimum production and sustainable opportunities for U.S. commercial and recreational fisheries. By supporting ODFW's participation in Pacific Salmon Treaty mechanisms and enabling comprehensive fisheries data systems, this award directly contributes to salmon recovery and management across the Pacific Northwest region. Performance of all work occurs at ODFW's Salem Region Office in Salem, Oregon.
