This federal Project Grant award, provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Continuum of Care (CoC) Program (CFDA 14.267), will support The Salvation Army - Kansas and Western Missouri Division in delivering a range of services to address homelessness in the Kansas City, MO area.
With a total funding amount of $363,598 awarded on March 11, 2025, the grant will enable The Salvation Army to provide permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, and homeless management information system (HMIS) activities. The funding will help the organization quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families, minimize the trauma caused by homelessness, promote access to mainstream resources, and optimize self-sufficiency among those experiencing homelessness in the region. The Salvation Army may also use the grant funds to provide housing relocation, stabilization services, and short- or medium-term rental assistance to individuals and families at risk of homelessness in order to prevent them from becoming homeless.
