This $115,165 federal Project Grant award from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Continuum of Care (CoC) Program (CFDA 14.267) will provide funding to United Community Action Partnership (UCAP), a nonprofit organization, to deliver a range of services aimed at addressing homelessness in Willmar, Minnesota.
The CoC Program funds may be used by UCAP to establish and operate projects under five components: permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS), and homelessness prevention. Specific eligible activities include rental assistance, housing relocation and stabilization services, operating costs of supportive housing, and HMIS implementation. The funding is intended to decrease the number of individuals and families experiencing homelessness by improving outcomes such as reducing the length of time homeless, returns to homelessness, and increasing exits to permanent housing. While the specific sub-recipient activities are not known at the time of award, UCAP has demonstrated experience in delivering a variety of community-based social services to low-income and vulnerable populations in southwestern Minnesota.
