The Department of Veterans Affairs National Cemetery Administration awarded $329,997.45 to Us-Korea Global Strategy Foundation Inc. on September 1, 2026, under the Veterans Legacy Grants Program (CFDA 64.204) to develop K-12 educational outreach connecting students and teachers to Vietnam War veterans' histories and the Veterans Legacy Memorial. The recipient will create inquiry-based instructional modules guiding students through research of local Vietnam War veterans buried in national cemeteries, coupled with field trips to sacred grounds where researched veterans rest. The project includes a virtual field trip experience and digital walking tours for students unable to visit in person. A "train-the-trainer" program, in-person workshops at two national cemeteries, and national webinars will equip more than 800 educators and 600 community members to implement the curriculum. The project targets 900 teachers and as many as 21,000 students who will research biographies of local Vietnam War veterans. Performance occurs in New York with a period extending from the award date through August 31, 2027. This is a Project Grant assistance type. The Veterans Legacy Grants Program funds cemetery research and educational materials production that teach about the history of veterans interred in national, State, or Tribal cemeteries and promote community engagement with those histories.
