About this award
The American Library Association (ALA) was awarded a $568,218 Project Grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) under the National Leadership Grants (NLG) program to conduct Phase 2 of the National Impact of Library Public Programs Assessment. Building on previous IMLS-supported research, ALA will continue developing a foundational understanding of library programming by exploring its impact on libraries and communities and how libraries partner with other organizations. Over three years from September 2021 through August 2024, ALA will implement a comprehensive research strategy to document the characteristics, audiences, outcomes, and value of U.S. library programming. Bringing together researchers and practitioner-advisors in a national network, the grant will further the NLG program's goal of advancing professional practice to strengthen museum and library services.
