About this award

The Department of Housing and Urban Development's Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development awarded Kentucky Housing Corp $139,920 under the Continuum of Care Program (CFDA 14.267) on January 1, 2026, for a project grant carrying period of performance through December 31, 2026.

(KRCC) for operation of the Jarnigan Place Rapid Rehousing project in Breathitt, Lee, Owsley, Wolfe, Leslie, Letcher, Knott, and Perry counties. The project serves chronically homeless individuals, veterans, youth under 25, domestic violence survivors, and persons with mental illness using a Housing First model with 100 percent dedicated funding. KRCC uses funding to pay security and utility deposits, rapid rehousing assistance not to exceed 24 months, and housing stability case management. Case management staff help participants locate affordable housing units, connect to Housing Choice Vouchers, pursue benefits including SSI/SSDI and K-TAP, seek employment, and develop individualized housing plans. KRCC delivers in-house physical health, mental health, community support, and substance abuse services and leverages community partnerships to address participant needs.
