The Defense Health Agency has awarded a $968,400 Project Grant to Mayo Clinic to develop a personalized approach to treating drug-resistant ovarian cancer. The grant, which began on June 1, 2024, and will run through May 31, 2028, is funded under the Military Medical Research and Development program (CFDA 12.420). This program supports biomedical research to improve the health and care of military service members, veterans, and their families. Through this award, Mayo Clinic will leverage its expertise in cancer research, clinical care, and translational medicine to advance the development of innovative therapies for drug-resistant ovarian cancer, a critical health challenge facing the military community. The grant will enable Mayo Clinic to conduct preclinical research, including pharmacokinetic and pharmacology evaluations, to support the progression of promising cancer treatment approaches from the laboratory to clinical trials.
