This $264,480 Project Grant awarded on March 11, 2025 by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Continuum of Care (CoC) Program (CFDA 14.267) will support the efforts of Safe Harbor Children's Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization in Brunswick, GA, to address youth homelessness in the community.
The funding will enable Safe Harbor to provide a range of comprehensive services, including permanent supportive housing, transitional housing, supportive services, homelessness prevention, and homeless management information systems (HMIS). These activities are designed to quickly rehouse homeless youth, minimize the trauma and dislocation caused by homelessness, promote access to mainstream resources, and optimize self-sufficiency among youth experiencing homelessness. As a sub-grantee, Safe Harbor has also partnered with state agencies to further enhance its capacity in child advocacy, sexual assault prevention, and abuse prevention efforts.
