Description

Quantify bigheaded carp in the wabash river basin, including assessing movement between the wabash and ohio rivers and between the white and wabash rivers. Inform harvest efforts in the wabash and white rivers by determining bigheaded carp densities, spatial distributions, and density responses to harvest. Use larvae and EGG monitoring in the wabash river and tributaries to delineate the reproductive range of invasive carps within this system. Additionally provide consultation in the development of a basin-wide standardized ichthyoplankton sampling protocol. Identify the extent of invasive carp spawning and recruitment in the ohio river and inform potential and ongoing management actions such as targeted removal, barrier deterrent placement, and spawning disruption.
