The Native American Employment and Training grant award of $481,556 from the Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration will support employment and training services for Native American, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian individuals. The grant recipient, Native American Indian Association of TE, will deliver career services to prepare individuals to enter, reenter, or retain unsubsidized employment leading to self-sufficiency. Follow-up services including counseling and support for up to 12 months after exit will also be provided to assist participants in obtaining and retaining employment. Training services such as those described in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act will further develop the academic and occupational skills of beneficiaries. As a Project Grant awarded July 1, 2022 and set to conclude June 30, 2025, the funding aims to make Native American, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian individuals more competitive in the workforce and equipped with entrepreneurial skills for self-employment. Little to no subrecipient activities are involved, with most services delivered directly by the grantee.
